Locomotive Servicing
Having your Trains serviced will help to improve their running performance, reliability and of course longevity. Low maintenance will lead to problems, poor reliability and issues over time. Dirt and dust will build up in and will lead to poor electrical conductivity of pick-ups and gears. Oil and carbon deposits will build up on brushes and motor commutators power output from the motor. On DCC converted trains these issues are more of an issue, therefore maintenance is always essential.
Our servicing includes the following:
- Motor Strip Down
- Cleaning of all electrical Contacts, Brushes and Commutators.
- Replacement of Brushes if required.
- Cleaning Drive / Gear Train and inspect for wear and cracks, before reassembly with lubrication.
- Cleaning the Bogies, Pick-ups and Electrical Contacts.
- Cleaning of the Wheels.
- The Train is then fully tested (bedding in new brushes if installed).
- General clean up of body and cosmetics.
Locomotive Repairs
MRW will undertake any Mechanical and electrical repairs on your DC or DCC, locomotive, from a faulty light to a “it was on fire” we’ll tackle any job large or small. We own a state of the art Lathe/Milling Machine and 3D Printer for those parts you just can not buy.
All our repairs are guaranteed for 6 months.
Repairs are usually carried out within 1-2 weeks depending on the availability of parts etc.
