Weathering
The Model Railway Workshop can provide weathering to your locomotives, coaches, wagons and trucks that will look outstanding and will look as realistic as the real thing. Having a dirty Diesel hauling fright is a great sight to see on a detailed scenic layout.
There are 3 levels of Weathering (Light Medium or Heavy) which use some of the below detailing or all of the below on Heavy Weathering.
- Light Medium or Heavy Weathering / Airbrush Artwork.
- Hand Brush Artwork.
- Renumbering / Name Change.
- Side of body oil streaks.
- Rust areas and fine detailing.
- Brake dust.
- Roof dirt around roof panels, horn grilles.
- Marker light recesses.
- Fuel / coolant leaks.
- Body side grilles and chassis.
- Grease on the buffer heads.
Timescale
Weathering drying time required between coats of paint and detailing can take a long time. It can take up to four weeks or longer to complete depending on the level of weathering required, and this time scale also varies between locomotives. The results are well worth the wait!
